3d collage

I made the earth with a ball of newspaper wrapped in aluminum foil wrapped in cling film. And I used skewers to stick the meteors and stars onto ( i cut them out of the original texture pages!) I like how it turned out. I was contemplating photoshopping the skewers out so it would just show the stars and meteors but i have grown to like how chaotic and explosive it looks. collage 1 3d.jpg

I attempted to make the swirls with cling film first but it wouldn't hold its shape so i used aluminum foil. I decided to use cardboard for the vacuum because i felt the inside of the cardboard matched the texture of the vacuum collage.

I attemped to make the buildings using fake plastic nails. I really didn't like how it turned out so i decided to scrap it altogether because i felt demotivated by it. I am yet to find another method to turn my collage 3d but now that I look at the picture I dont hate it too much, so I may revisit it one day and complete it. I do like how the fragility and chaotic stacking contrasts with how firm and secure buildings actually are, especially since the glue started melting a bit of the plastic for some reason. It was just very tricky to navigate my way through this one and i lost my vision halfway through.
